Circle & ceremony

  • What is circle

Circle is a guided group experience of inner inquiry. The guide is a space holder, who reads the group and their needs intuitively, and who delivers a flow through a series of experiences such as meditation, breath work, art practices, creative writing, singing, voice exersises, nourishment processes such as massage, and a talk circle.
This group experience is not an open chat or advice giving space from any person in the group. Its very core mission is to allow each participant the freedom and power of accessing the wisdom and knowledge that resides within them.

Through presence with active and compassionate listening in sharing time, we find ourselves in each other, as we realise we share not the exact story but similar experiences. We realise we are held by our neighbours, for they too pain and suffer, joy and celebrate, and flow through life just as we do. We find we, and only we, can gift ourselves the true freedom and power of following our heart by taking responsibility for our own awareness process.

By witnessing others in their process, our journey of unravelling, understanding and finding our truths are quickened. Circle is a beautiful space of equanimity. We all bear witness to each other. And that can be confronting as well as deeply powerful and beautiful. For we do not stand alone.

It may also be said that there is something very special about the space we imbue with intention and presence. It cannot be explained in fullness with words but only felt and experienced. When visited regularly, we learn to practice being all that we are, and broadening our awareness of ourselves, others and the world, all at once.

  • Ceremony within

Circle in my eyes is closely woven with ceremony and ritual. A central space is laid out with cloth and candles, florals and cards, and we sit on the earth, follow rituals such as lighting candles, calling ourselves present, calling those in we hold dear, and voicing our heart to the the extent we wish to.

We use these tools and practices to help us reach a state of deepened presence with ourselves, and it also adds to the experience of sharing, witnessing and taking the time to reflect upon oneself as others share their hearts. The ritual is not to be seen as spiritual or religious, yet only devotion to our own inquiry, journey of self love and understanding.

We may find from this space of freedom our own lens from which to work with the unseen realms which are so real and so true to us. Each and every piece of our circle is optional, and it is just as much nourishing to listen, as it is to share at whatever capacity we can.

The space is a safe space to be and share our hearts, and this is agreed by the group prior to sharing that each story is kept private and isn’t shared outside of the space. It is also agreed that it is not a space to record, photograph or share with our technology. Trust in each other and ourselves in this process ripples out into our lives and it is a very special feeling to experience.

  • My journey with Circle & Ceremony

Since 2008 and the age of 18 I have attended circles of many different kinds.
Be it circles of blessing a mother before the birth of her child, creating a wedding circle of my own or participating in collaborated retreats for our womens groups.
Since nourishing and guiding my own circles from 2019 I have woven many aspects of art, song, writing, meditation, storytelling, festive themes and celebrations.
I have called circles of women around me in times of need during my separation and awareness process of my difficult relationships, which has been deeply nourishing, healing and transformative.

Now, I apply all I have learned to curating and holding different kinds of circles. This year, 2023, I open space for all genders to come together in song circles, crafting and handwork circles, sharing circles, immersion/retreat settings, and embodiment processes through co-facilitating a nude circle and photoshoot. Many new work prospects are on my horizon, and I am so excited, blessed and honoured to be calling this my work!

I believe that circle and the process of deep listening is truly empowering, powerful and so needed in this time of highly strung distraction, speed and addiction, as we navigate a world of technology that often develops much faster than we can mentally, emotionally and spiritually handle.

Each of us carries something so precious. That is our uniqueness, our soul, our spirit, our ego, our story, our life. Through presence with listening and sharing, we have the power to reveal, transform, heal and find deep peace and fulfilment.

I am so honoured to love and nourish this work and am excited to share space with you my dear.

Please read on to the further descriptions below on specifically themed circles I curate on a regular basis in the Brisbane area.

In devotion to healing and happiness,

Upcoming events.

I am an expressive creator. I value freedom, truth and authenticity. I invite you to circle with me in this space of self-realisation, compassion and loving witness to the unfolding of yourself and others. Experience a variety of connection circles in nature and in sacred spaces.

I have worked with Lauren Grace for a number of years and over this time have observed time and time again how the exquisite integrity of her work guides her and holds others to unfold in the most gentle and beautiful manner. She is deeply attuned to her inner landscape and this is reflected in the way that she creates and shapes her offerings - unique, tender and of utter truth and joy. Lauren is a women of few words and great heart, she is tender, strong and utterly devoted to her offerings and life. I walk away from her circles, with her gifts of sewing, in her presence with a sense of both the ancient and new. She is a matriarch in the making, a medicine woman of the future. A mother, lover and sister whose presence, laughter and wisdom heals and inspires. Thank you for inviting such truth, grace and devotion into the world. Thank you for the bravery of your tender heart and your willingness to live a life devoted to the precious intricacies of this beautiful life.
