Mother Daughter Winter Solstice Celebration
COMMUNITY. CREATION. SONG. SHARING. NOURISHMENT.
Mothers and Daughters, I welcome you.
I welcome you to your connection as mother and daughter. Your connection to a community of mothers and daughters. Your connection to our original mother, Mother Earth.
May you feel welcome to be held within the sacred space of circle. May you feel welcome to be held by the elements, and may you find joy in creating together with others.
In circle, I welcome you to WINTER SOLSTICE…..
Winter Solstice is a time when we reach the longest night in the year, and the shortest day. A time when we rest upon that point of darkness before we turn to the ever increasing light of summer, and the Equinox or equal day, equal night of Spring.
Connection to this planetary phenomenon allows us to begin to feel our own inner tides of rest and reflection needed in the middle of winter. Just like the snake who hibernates, or the seed that lies dormant in the earth, we too can connect to that notion of rest, as well as potential and promise, recognising what we hold dear within. We also have the opportunity to recognise the endings needed for us to feel clearer within ourselves, and the new beginnings we wish to plant to bear fruit in the coming months.
As adults, as mothers, as creators, I invite you to hold these pictures within you as you gather in circle. While flowing through circle with our young daughters requires us to have shorter focus times and less time to go to the depths like in adult only spaces, we can still feel these themes within us as adults who guide our daughters. I look forward to sharing this theme in story when we gather!
I welcome you to gather with me on the lawn in the winter sun in Samford Valley, overlooking the farm, gardens and creek in Draper.
Your Mother Daughter Duo ticket includes:
guided visualisation and connection practice
decoration of winter candles with modelling beeswax
introductory guidance to hand stitching with your daughter
all materials included: candles, wax, fabric, needles, thread
song sharing as we create to guide our practice of working with our hands
Please bring with you:
cushion, water bottle, sunhat, extra layers of clothing
Morning tea to share in our break - fruits, veggies and nutritious snacks.
If I am new to circle practice:
When gathering on the earth with women in a circle, we practice intentional connection through breath, visualisation, sound/song and meditation, as well as facilitated sharing circle. It is a gently guided space of reflection and nourishment. The circles Lauren curates are guided as a space of focus upon the sweetness of connection, joy, togetherness and our natural world. This gentle space can be seen as a way to find the calm and peace within us, and much of what we share can be used in daily life to bring us back to our centre.
Circle is easily accessible to those who have not participated before, it is just a matter of being open to something new and remaining curious and respectful of each other in that space. Please note Lauren’s circles are also technology/phone and recording free spaces, to allow us full presence and focus, and to nurture the sacred elements and privacy of others in that space. Thank you for respecting these ways I so dearly hold in my heart.
A last word of reflection….
"Connecting us back to our home and our hearts in circle with our daughters nourishes us and can help us to heal the feminine within. It provides space for intentional presence, nourishment, devotion and care for our bodies. It fosters connection, community and playfulness within us and our daughters. Circling with my daughter is always a laugh, a deep joy, and a truly precious time as I share these often tender places with my daughter. In the hands of our creator, outdoors, we gather with our friends and soul family and enjoy time and space. We create, sing and laugh together. I look forward to sharing this precious and beautiful space with you and your daughter...."
