CUSTOM Adult Bonnet
Custom design your own sun bonnet! Work with Lauren to create your ideal colour ways, textures and sizing. With this order, you will be able to choose from a range of vintage, re-loved and up-cycled cottons, corduroys, linens and wools, or provide your own nostalgic piece of fabric to join in the creation process!
EACH CUSTOM ORDER WILL BE CRAFTED AND POSTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF PURCHASE. An email will be sent to the customer following payment to discuss fabric, size and design choices.
THE ADULT SUN BONNET ~ 1950’s children’s sun bonnet made big! This was a request some years ago, and since then this size has helped many feel shaded in the garden, out canoeing and fishing, chainsawing, working on farms, mowing and walking across deserts. It has also protected those who have delicate skin and want to protect as much as possible when out and about under the sun. Australia’s own Costa even tried it out for gardening! Imagine feeling like you are under a tree, your ears and cheeks are covered, your neck is covered and your face shaded by a sturdy brim that protects your face as it curves around it! The sun bonnet in adult size adds so much more protection to the regular wide brimmed hat or cap, because it covers so much more!
CHOOSE THESE VARIATIONS:
short, long or rounded neck flap
Lace neck flap or none at all!
Toggle and cotton string fastening
Narrow or wide chin ties
Doily or trim embellishments
Each bonnet is lovingly sewn in The Gap, Queensland, Australia from locally sourced materials, new sewing thread and rayon interfacing.
~ Custom designs were what kick started my business in 2017. They inspired me to create new designs and experiment with the patterns I had. I thoroughly enjoyed the connection I formed with my clients as they always had a story to tell, and I could work with that while creating. After taking a break from custom orders between 2022-24, I’ve decided to bring them back and open up that creative channel again. I can’t wait to see what we come up with! ~
